A Letter I wrote to a local radio station about Crystal (Fan Mail)
Dear Steffan and April: I’d like to make a few comments about your interview this morning with, if memory serves, Manny on the Street, regarding Crystal Bowersox. At one point in the interview someone mentioned how Crystal had said, after the winner was announced as being Lee DeWyze, that she really liked Lee and was happy for him and wished him all the best. Then Steffan, if memory serves, asked Manny if he thought that was for real or if she was just saying it, or words to that effect. Manny may then have bungled his long and rambling answer, since, at the first anyway, he appeared to say that she was in fact just saying it; that she was somehow a poor sport because she didn’t do any post production interviews, etc., etc. (To be fair, by the end of his answer he had softened it a bit.)
Here’s an exit interview from Crystal Bowersox. There’s been a lot of discussion about if what’s in store for her. This interview also discusses her break up with her boyfriend, her opinion on Simon’s possible replacement, being a runner up this 9th Season of AI and the strangest music gig she ever had.
Well… congratulations to Lee Dewyze for taking the crown – American Idol Season 9 Champ – but like what I’ve said, winning or not: Crystal Bowersox is my American Idol. It’s not over yet, in fact it’s only the beginning of a real competition. Life after Idol? How can you say that’s not a competition? Anyways, I’m certain that the future is too bright and too big for Crystal. Too bad, but we should all wait for Lee’s album to came out first before we can grab a copy of Crystal’s album and crank the volume up listening to “Farmer’s Daughter”! 
Right, it’s been three days since Lee Dewyze won and maybe it’s time to get over it. Thanks to all of the people dropping by and give comments on the post that I’ve made after the results. Who knows, Crystal might be reading all of those and will get your message across. Anyways, Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze just recently appeared in Ellen. They’ve joined her in her talkshow and talks about what’s in store for them in the future. Crystal also talks about her breakup with her boyfriend morning of the finale. 
As we’ve learned over the past two seasons, “American Idol” fans don’t like being told by the judges who will win the singing competition before we’re even to the top 12. Adam Lambert and Crystal Bowersox were the front-runners so early in their respective seasons that there was no room for growth — and both finished as the runner-up. We caught up with Crystal on Friday (May 28) to find out the real story behind those quitting rumors, whether she expected Lee DeWyze to win and what she thinks about replacing Simon Cowell.
Crystal Bowersox, signed to Jive/19 Recordings Thursday, will have her first meeting about her debut album next week. “I’m ready to start working and get this underway,” she told a group of reporters during a conference call Friday. As far as what her album might sound like, “It might be a familiar sound,” says the 24-year-0ld singer, who counted Melissa Etheridge, Feist and Ray LaMontagne among musicians she admires. “Simple songs that people can relate to, enjoy and hopefully learn something from.”
I know how it feels when you know you deserved to win. Coming from another small town girl and amazing vocalist, you did! Lee is cute but had nothing on your vocals. You know that. The truth is that there were alot of women more crazy about the idea of a cute boy. He was o.k. but I could sing him under the table and I’m not even of a big show lol. You rock and you have what it takes. Your vocals will take you further than any amount of cuteness ever could. This is just a stepping stone. You have soul and the teenie boppers that vote on American Idol are not your market but trust me- You have one, a big one! Would LOVE to jam with you sometime.
Thanks so much for the great talent you provided the viewers throughout the competition. Anyone who has a good taste for music and appreciation of the art of vocalists knows that you were clearly this year’s winner. Lee is a good guy with a decent, but inconsistent voice, but you were light years better. So, that’s two years in a row that the voting process failed. Next year, when the show loses its’ luster (no Simon, flawed voting process), people will remember that you helped to carry the show when it most needed an infusion of strong talent.
I can only pray that she knows that on Weds night tears fell from the final result. Crystal, you have a talent that is able to causes people to be at ease when listening to you sing. It really doesn’t matter what song. The way you put yourself into each song you sing is amazing. I await your first CD with aniticipation. I hope this is soon. So many have said the reason you didn’t win was because they didn’t feel you were marketable. This has to be wrong? I can only hope that you had been approached with an offer that if you won Idol, you could not have taken that offer. Please continue to shine …….. as you are a star !!!!! God bless you, your family and that precious baby boy of yours. Don’t let anything or anyone stop you! Music is your heart ….. it is your soul …… and it is you in total.
Crystal, You may not have won, but you won the hearts of millions. You were and are an inspiration to many who followed you and will continue to follow you. You were made to sing… You may feel pain over the loss of your boyfriend, but you will go on and it will make you stronger. God does not close one door without opening another…. I am 51 years young… Go forward, live, love, laugh and sing…..
