Thank you for your performances and coming into our lives. Voices like yours should be treasured (Fan Mail)
I never watched American Idol. But one nite I was channel surfing and you were singing “Me and Bobby McGee”! It sent chills up my spine. I was lucky enough to meet Janis Joplin when I was singing with an opening band for them in SF. I remember being so nervous, it was the biggest crowd we had ever played in front of. She walked over , handed me a flask and said “Here darlin…take some and it will be fine, just sing to your soul.” You did her proud! She would of loved your performances. My friends and I started turning on Idol just for YOUR performances. You are a winner in our book and can’t wait to get your albums. Remember just sing to your soul. Thank you for your performances and coming into our lives. Voices like yours should be treasured.
I been watching Idol since it first started and I was never more sure of a winner as I was of you from the moment I heard your remarkable voice. Not matter what you sang or how, for me you have a quality that is natural and unique. And while Lee is a good singer and very likeable young man, you are a brilliant artist and a very likeable young woman. You may not have taken the title and who can explain why that happened – we don’t get to vote in Australia otherwise you would have got mine – but I anticipate that there are great years ahead for you as a performer and entertainer. It was such fun to see you grow as the show unfolded and you seemed to have more fun each week. When your first album comes out, I’ll be buying it. I wish you a wonderful life with your son and family, and enjoy the journey that lies ahead for you.
Hey Crystal, I feel like I can call you by your first name already… I’m sending this email to speak my mind and hope you hear me… YOU are blessed with a voice like no one else! You don’t need any contest to show your talents. There is no one to compete against when you’re just expressing your feelings through song and if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have watched American Idol this year. We are all blessed with something in life and many people never find it, but you have! Please, please, please… Don’t stop! I will buy every CD that you make and when you’re in my town, expect to see me in that audience! Now, Mama Sox… It’s your time to shine and share with your family, especially your baby girl! I send my love and hope/expect to see nothing but success in your life! 
Dear Crystal, Clearly, you stand at the thresshold of new beginnings. Beyond which lies the unknown for you though you cast little focus in what will be but live in the moment. As you explore the depths of this new world that has come to be, I wish you the treasures of the soul in that place where words have no meaning. And I have faith that you will internalize your experience and convey its meaning through you art. I look forward to your journey.
Crystal,,,,,,,,,,it’s absolutely criminal in my mind that the mental pygmies of America thought Lee was a better Idol prospect than you! No worries, though. Daughtry came in second and suddenly eclipsed his Idol rival in both obvious talent AND earnings! This will be your legacy as well. I run a recording studio and I can feel it coming just as sure as I’m sitting here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you will do as well as Daughtry and everyone will say Lee, who?!
Congratulations Crystal on your success on American Idol…you are the winner in all aspects of the word! No, you may not have been named the 2010 American Idol, but you are truely an enormous winner! I said from the very moment I heard you sing for the first time that you would be in the Top 10, but then after you made it to the Top 24 I knew you would win…and you did in my book! You are phenomenal!!! You are unique and entoxicating to your audience! I await the release of your many recordings in the future and wish you nothing but the BEST IN ALL YOU PERSUE!!!! Dear Crystal, “CONGRATULATIONS” on the successful completion of the first introductory stage of your high rising career through American Idol. As you said right after the finale, I do believe that you already and truely won the competion!! … Do you happen to know how many people’s hearts and souls you have moved over the past two months?! Your focus and effort into being yourself and others throughout the tough competition touched my heart. I was happy that tears come to my eyes watching your genuine performance or listening to your heartfelt songs!! As a would-be-psychologist soon, I’d like to convey to you my “DEEP THANKS” and “HIGH RESPECT.” You taught me what it is like to be truthful to myself despite all ups and downs, esp. pains. You are a strong woman, and I believe you have great potentials to become a great mom for your beloved son. As Allen said yesterday after your performance of “Up to the mountain,” I also would buy your CD and try to attend your concerts… You need to know that many many people pray for your health, family, and career!! At least I will…!!
Crystal – Hey! Just wanted to let you know that from the MOMENT we saw you in “try outs” from the beginning of Idol, we KNEW you would go FAR!! And you DID!! Congratulations!! We feel like you were ALREADY a WINNER way, way back, and glad that you & Lee, have developed a great friendship, along the way. Its what its all about anyway, isn’t it? Anyway, we felt you BOTH should have been the winner, in a TIE!!! For 1st Place!! We are TOTALLY fans of yours, and will be looking forward to your FIRST ALBUM coming out really soon!! You have an incredible gift from God, you & your voice!! You’re a very special lady, and glad you stayed TRUE to yourself, throughout the whole competition!! Good for you!! Hi Crystal, I’m a 60 year old grandmother; in my mind and heart I still feel much younger than 60. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been mistaken for being my son’s wife, and not his mother. Anyway, I am a child of the 60′s and consequently I’ve seen a lot of bands and solo acts come and go. As a result, I feel like I know and can recognize talent. I have to tell you how VERY DISAPPOINTED I was when Ryan announced that Lee was the winner tonight. From week 1, my husband and I picked you to take it all. Particularly after last night’s EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING performance by Lee.
