Crystal Bowersox and all of the hard times back in the day

Even before Bowersox famous dreadlocks, she already knew what she wanted to do to be part of the world. The American Idol finalist had a hard time growing up. Parents of Crystal Bowersox divorced when she was still a toddler. She was also diagnosed with diabetes when she was still in the second grade.

When she was 17, Crystal Bowersox left home and went to Chicago singing in coffee houses and blues clubs and then coming back home broke and pregnant.

“To put her thoughts to music, that I’m sure was an escape,” according to one of Crystal Bowersox’s mentor.

Crystal Bowersox is hoping that she can sing one of her original songs during the finals night despite the resistance of the producers of the show.

“When America starts hearing her original music, that’s when the true artist is going to come out,” according to one of her music teacher at the Toledo School for the arts.

There are about a dozen of Crystal Bowersox’s songs already that are posted in youtube.

At night, neighbors would hear Crystal Bowersox singing in a garage. There is no doubt that she really loves music.

American Idol Season 9 Finale will be on Wednesday featuring Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.
