Crystal Bowersox has forgiven her Mother

Crystal BowersoxCrystal Bowersox said in a recent interview that she has forgiven her mother and rekindled her relationship with her and no longer blaming the latter for all of the abuse she caused. Crystal Bowersox endured a difficult childhood while growing up due to her mother’s alcoholism. “This is the sob story that never happened on American Idol, the whole album is just my diary – dealing with child abuse, and alcoholism, and just a dark childhood that I had dealing with my mum and our relationship and everything.”

“She was a single mum trying to raise three kids on her own, and she didn’t always deal with her frustrations the best way, she’s a much better grandmother now than she was a mother for me. I haven’t forgotten, but I’ve definitely forgiven my mum,” Crystal Bowersox added.

We must meet, Crystal. I am the executive director of a private non-profit agency working with approximately 1200 kids each year. You ARE singing (and have lived) our kids story. We need you helping with our mission of dealing with the trauma that our kids face. Please reply and consider letting me bring one of our kids (who is now an adult working for us) and share our mission. WE NEED YOU! And you can do so much for our kids.

Good for you, Crystal. Forgiving an abusive parent allows you the freedom to move forward with your life. Sometimes we have to go through darkness to get to the light….and even though you had to go through some very rough times..it shaped the person you are today. Instead of wallowing in self pity, you have channelled your pain into something extraordinary. You’re such a special person….and a talent like yours is very rare. I am so happy you are now able to share your gift with the rest of us. Thank-you Crystal….you are amazing.
