I’m in love.

I’m a rock-n-roll fan and I don’t even like American Idol. In fact I spend a fair amount of time making fun of the show and the “Pop” junk that most of the people on the show releaser after the show is over every year.

HOWEVER::When I heard Crystal Bowersox sing Bobby McGee this week, I fell in love. I hope she wins so we can finally have a real singer/songwriter album from someone who is REAL and deserves the success.

I am nearly 59 years old, and this song is one of the best songs I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!!and I have heard a lot of music.Everybody has different tastes I know, maybe repeat listen to it a couple of times, and I BET YOU WILL BE PLUGGED MY FRIEND LOL. I agree with you Bill, I am even older than you and I get chills every time I listen to both Farmer’s Daughter and Holy Toledo. This girl is so talented and I have become such a fan it is unreal. I usually don’t get into AI that much to seek out listening to one of the artist but this girl has me looking for more of her music all over the internet. She is GREAT!!!!!

Believe it or not, I only found out earlier today that someone with MY last name was even ON “American Idol,” let alone a heavy favorite! (She’s not too close a relation…the family’s pretty widespread across the country by now. The “Bauersachs” family first came to America from Munich in the 18th century, settling in Pennsylvania.)

Since then, I had a listen to some of her Idol performances, as well as to “Farmer’s Daughter,” and I’ve come to the conclusion that she can hold her head up proudly alongside anyone that’s ever performed at Lilith Fair, up to and including Shawn Colvin, Natalie Merchant, and Sarah McLachlan (three of my ex-wife’s favorites). Go get ‘em, “Cousin Crystal”! You’re doing the family proud.

My age makes no difference, but I am 70 years young. I live near Austin, Tx. and have heard a lot of struggling artists at different music venues. I love all kinds of music and marvel at the abilities of singer/songwriters. Amy Winehouse is one of my favorite artists, I could listen to her sing the names out of a phone book and love it.
Getting to the point, as some of you have expressed I was not a big fan of American Idol, usually wait until the last couple of shows to watch and see who wins. But I stumbled upon Crystal in one of her performances on the show and was hooked. She leaves me wanting more and more and more. This weeks Bobby McGee was one of the finest live performances I have yet to witness. Being a fan of and having seen Janis Joplin live in Austin a few years back, in my humble opinion Crystal is as good as or maybe even a better singer than Janis.
No matter who wins the contest(and it should be Crystal, because unfortunately it sometimes becomes a popularity contest rather than music skills), she will do well in the recording world and I for one can’t wait until she comes out with her first album. Here’s hoping she makes it to Austin so I can see her live.
As an after thought, in my opinion once again, all the songs above are way better than average, they move me to again want more………….

These are only FOUR songs that have managed to leak out on the internet, out of the many many many that Crystal has written. And not by her choice either I’m sure. Please don’t assume what is out there is material Crystal is just gona “throw together” for an album. Can’t judge someones success over 4 songs you’ve heard leaked on the internet. And while they’re all amazing and I think they all deserved to be heard, I’m sure Crystal has her own opinions on what should or shouldnt make album cuts. We’ll just have to see when the day comes

I can hardly wait for Crystal to put out an album. I loved her from the very beginning of Idol. I wish her much success and happiness.

It has been a long time since an artist has captivated me the way that Crystal does every time she opens her mouth to sing or to just speak to someone. I love music and I honestly can say that no one has ever pulled me into their soul the way Crystal does. There is no doubt that she is way ahead of anyone trying to compete against her on American Idol. I know that she and the other contestants have become very good friends, but there are no friends in business and there is no one who would have to tell her that. She is her own Alice in wonderland. It’s obvious that she has been through a great deal in her life and that everything she is doing is to make a better life for herself and her child. I have to take my hat off to her. The one thing I want to say to Crystal even if it is only through the median of her website is: “It is your dream Crystal, thank you for letting us be a part of it.”
